About Audrey…

Audrey is a seasoned healthcare writer and content strategist. She started her professional writing career in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina while enrolled in the Technical Communication graduate program at NC State. Audrey wrote software guides and technical instructions before transitioning into clinical regulatory medical writing. 

After 10 years of translating biostatistics into clinical study reports for FDA New Drug Applications, she merged her love of science, technical communication, and creative writing. Since moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, Audrey has been a writing consultant for clients such as: Google X (now Verily Life Sciences), Genentech, Pfizer, Abbott, Celgene, and Bio-Rad. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from California College of the Arts in 2018.

In her own words…

For the past few years I have balanced my day job as a Content Strategist and Brand Storyteller for biotech and life sciences clients with personal passion projects centered on Afrofuturism and democratizing the future, curated in collaboration with The Institute for the Future, San Francisco Lit Crawl, Oakland’s Beast Crawl literary festival, and more. I regularly curate and participate in author readings and discussion panels on radical imagination and futures forecasting.

My approach to brand storytelling is to glean data-driven insights from the market research, find points of tension in the product narrative, then tease out fresh perspectives and new patterns of thought to navigate the reader along a path of discovery. As the content journey unfolds along the story arc, the reader/user, motivated by empathy and emotional connection, is driven toward logical next steps: calls to action aligned with behavioral outcomes based on your brand’s strategic imperatives.

Storytelling is a way to plant a seed of curiosity and interest, cultivate a desire to grow knowledge through further connection, then convert the experience into fruitful action.
